The Co-ordinating Team

Our team are made up of ordinary people who have been affected by MS.

Some, but not all, of us have MS.

What links us is our desire to provide some sort of service to people who have MS in the area.

Over the last few years they have been shown to be a group of committed, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals. We are keen to make improvements to the services we provide - if you have suggestions please use the "Contact us" section and get in touch.

Between us we provide emotional and financial support to people in our community who are affected by MS.

  • Our Acting Chair has stepped into the breach when our previous Chair stepped down during Summer 2016. She is also our fundraising and awareness co-ordinator.
  • Our Secretary, is generally the first point of contact for anyone getting in touch and who provides secretarial support for our meetings.
  • Our Treasurer balances the books, draws up budgets and makes sure that we comply with Society's rules for using our funds.
  • Unlike most charities we have a third office bearer - the Support Co-ordinator whose role is to ensure that requests for funding and other support are handled with care and fairness. She also works with the three support volunteers who are also on the Committee and the three trained support volunteers who do not have a Committee role.
  • We publish a regular newsletter - so we have an editor. Our newsletter makes a regular link with those who can't get to our meetings and is filled with information and advice.
  • Between us we try to think of ways to spend our funds - to benefit people with and affected by MS and to get the best value for money.
  • All of the services provided are given on a voluntary basis.
