Resignation of Heather McQueen

Sadly, we are having to report that Heather McQueen has made the difficult decision to stand down as Chair of the branch, and from the committee. Heather has been Chair, acting and elected, for approximately a year and a half and has been on the committee for the past six years.

Meetings at Queen's Hotel

As daytime meetings at Queen's have not been attracting many people we have decided we would change the schedule to holding two evening meetings at Queen's each month. In this way we hope to provide a service that both meets the needs of a greater number of people and makes best use of our resources.

We are also moving back to the foyer of Queen's Hotel rather than Monarch House.

Asda Information and Awareness stall

On Friday 11th March we held an awareness raising and information stall from 10-3 at Asda, Perth.  The photo shows Lorraine and Sheila who were our first volunteers to man the stall on the day and they, along with our other volunteers, did a great job covering the stall.

Many people stopped to pick up information leaflets and to chat to us.  A good few of the people who did, knew, or knew of, someone who has MS.  On the stall we had our collection boxes, and a total of £62.95 has been added to branch funds.

Glen Lounge fundraising event raises over £4,000

The Glen Lounge bar on Edinburgh Road was the scene for a major fundraising event which has raised a fantastic £4,764.50 for the branch.

The event included a quiz, comedy session and a disco was organised by a local team comprising Savannah Law, Julie Duff, Derek Petterson and Gavin Sime. At the cheque presentation Savannah said that the charity was close to the hearts of the team and she thanked locals who had contributed to making the event a huge success.

The branch is very grateful to the team for a fantastic effort in raising such a great sum.
